Who Should Attend?

This longitudinal program is open to newly appointed CMOs who are in their first four years of the position and senior physician leaders preparing to assume the role in the next one to three years.

Application Checklist

To ensure a timely application, please prepare for the following requirements: 

  • Secure budgetary approval to cover program costs. 

  • Obtain a letter of support from your CEO, Clinical Leader, or Dean. 

  • Identify a care redesign project and prepare a one-page description. 

  • Update your CV to reflect current qualifications and experience. 

  • Prepare a valid credit card for payment upon acceptance. 


Application & Fees

The fees for the 2024-2025 program were $8,000. The program registration fee covers all program materials, and all meals/refreshment breaks for all six in-person meetings. The fee also includes access to all in-person and virtual content, and registration for the 2024 Chief Medical Officers Group (CMOG) and Group on Faculty Practice (GFP) Joint Spring Meeting.


Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the critical success factors associated with the CMO role.
  • Develop administrative skills required to perform the CMO role.
  • Determine opportunities and cultivate strategies to create better alignment within care systems.
  • Utilize principles and strategies for leveraging influence to motivate individuals, change behaviors, and drive mutually desired outcomes in the present and/or absence of direct authority.
